Waddan Systems has been continuously improving its existing sensing products. The improvements are addressed towards lowering the cost, increasing the performance accuracy, reducing the size and power consumption of the devices. The company also has a very strong IR&D program to develop new devices and technologies to address existing and emerging problems. Examples of new sensor development include:

• Rotational Rehometer for Fluid Viscosity Measurements It is a bulk micromachined parallel-plate device to measure the viscoelastic properties of fluids and gels.
• Waveguide Optics Based High Temp Sapphire Sensors Several opto-mechanical sensors are machined in a sapphire substrate sandwiched between two alumina plates. The sensing scheme is differential (for common mode rejection) and employs optical phase nulling for close loop operation.
• DIRWN Sensor Network It is a small (25mm diaX4.5mm thikness) device that incorporates an orthogonal cluster of three dual-wavelength IR sensors, a microcontroller with embedded AtoD, a short-haul radio transceiver, a replaceable battery cartridge, and an antenna.
• High Efficiency Nanowire-Nanotube Sandwiched Solar Cell It is our nanomaterial based photovoltaic solar energy harvester for high efficiency, lower cost and durability.
• MIOC for Narrowband Single Photon Source Inspired by the MIOC used in our PFOG. It is designed for future secure communication applications.
